Boo @ The Zoo

Today we went to Boo at the Zoo. This was Kensley's 3rd trip and by far this was the most fun she had but also the most fun we had with her. She has been so excited for Halloween this year. She decided that she wanted to be a bumble bee early on and wouldn't be swayed into anything else. She has been walking around our house talking about going "trick-or-treating" almost nonstop. So she was very excited to be able to trick-or-treat, but also to get to go to the "zoop."

Here she is right at the beginning of the zoo in the penguin exhibit.

Rowan was not thrilled with having to sit in the stroller for most of the zoo.

She yelled, "Look Mommy! He's SCARY!" haha

And let's not forget my sweet little monkey

Boo at the zoo is such a nice, safe way for kids to trick-or-treat all while getting to walk the zoo and see animals. We love it and can't wait to go again next year!

Happy Halloween!

On Thursday we went trick-or-treating with my mom. We took K to a "trunk-or-treat" where they set up cars in a row and kids can trick-or-treat out of people's trunks. It is a great idea for little kids so they don't have to walk really far and get treats. Sadly, the one we went to only had about 7 cars. We spent 10 minutes in line and maybe 5 minutes tops to get candy. We headed back to the car and I sort of felt bad that it was over so quickly. So when we got home I took K up and down my parents street to trick-or treat some more. She kept looking in her candy bucket and saying, "Oh My!" She didn't really say trick-or-treat but she said thank you which made me happy.

I sort of caught it in the image above but Kensley did this move almost every time she got candy. She leaned in and handed them her bucket while sticking out her leg behind her. She looks like she is trying an ice skating move. It cracked us up.

Uncle Colton helped us carve a little pumpkin and then we headed home.

On Saturday we went trick-or-treating with Dave's mom. The neighborhood they live in is really hilly and we had to walk up these steep driveways to get to a lot of the houses. I think K was wore out about 20 minutes into it and I carried her for awhile. She kept asking for Ro Ro who stayed home with Great Grandma. By this time she had the whole thing down. She ran up, grabbed the candy, threw it in her bucket and turned away yelling, "THANK YOU!" ha!

On Saturday daddy helped us carve our pumpkin that we got a few weeks ago at the pumpkin patch.

We got a ton of them but sadly I baked them in the oven and they came out kind of soggy? I don't know what happened. I've made them plenty of times before and they were really good. We ate a few and threw the rest in the trash.

Our finished pumpkin!

We had such a fun Halloween! Kensley is finally starting to understand what is going on and we made so many good memories that I will never forget.

Trick-or-Treat!

Last night we took Kensley to our mall for some in-door trick or treating. Good thing we got there right at 6 because it was PACKED! I can't believe how many people showed up. She had an absolute blast going from store to store collecting candy.

IMG_4496

She started doing this really weird ice skater move where she leaned into hand them her basket while lifting up her back leg. She did it every time she was handed candy. Strange girl. ;)

IMG_4497

I thought this was a great idea for little kids because sometimes it is just too cold to trick-or-treat outside.

IMG_4504

Tonight we are headed to my parents to take K to trunk or treat. This will be our 3rd trick-or-treating adventure and we still have Saturday! I am sure K will have plenty of candy to share this year!

My Spooky Skeletons

Is it crazy that it was 85 degrees yesterday? Luckily there was a nice breeze so I could take these pictures without anyone passing out from heat exhaustion. I am really hoping the weather cools down because Kensley's Halloween costume is made for sub zero temperatures, not a heat wave.

Belated Halloween Post

This is going to be a real quick post. I am getting ready to head to the gym and meet Dave for a workout. We have not been in over a week and that needs to stop! They have a daycare and everything so I have no excuse not to go.

This weekend was a lot of fun. We ended up going to my uncle's Halloween party and it was so fun. He had it all decorated outside with pumpkins and witches and even a flying ghost that Kensley just loved. Everyone loved our costumes and I thought K looked adorable with her bone in her hair. We came home and watched The Office (hahaha BookFace!) and Flash Forward and then headed to bed.

My mom was a brick house

Pebbles was not impressed.

Sunday we got up and headed to Pat Catan's because they had Christmas trees on sale for 50% off. We got a cute 7ft tree for only $50. It wasn't a pre-light tree like I wanted but for the price we could buy lights for less than most trees cost and that way we could buy the energy efficient lights. We ended up putting it up last night just so we could see how many strings of lights we needed. Surprisingly Kensley hasn't even paid that much attention to the tree. She will sit by it when the lights are on but they haven't been on most of the day and it is like it is not even there. I am not sure when we will bust the rest of our Christmas stuff out but hopefully soon. I just love having the house decorated and smelling like cinnamon! YUM!

I have seriously watched the 5 little pumpkins video online 700 times today. Kensley likes to do the hand motions when they "roll out of sight" so she keeps putting my hand on the mouse and making me click to start the video over! haha. Now she is putting her coins in her piggy bank and having me dump them back out so she can put them in again. Repeat. Repeat. All.Day.Long! haha

Well I am off to the gym!

My Sleepy Head

Last night I laid Kensley down for a quick nap at 7. She ended up sleeping until 5 this morning! I felt awful because she was in jeans and a onesie, but I didnt want to wake her. She got up at 5, ate and then slept till 830. She is now laying down for her nap. I took some pics of her today during tummy and floor time. I figured I would share!

Such an intellectual. She takes after me! haha

A preview of her Halloween costume- Isnt she the prettiest princess?
